Interior Minister Khalifa Sirajuddin Haqqani Meets Senior Kazakh Delegation in Kabul

Fawzea sediqi- Khalifa Sirajuddin Haqqani, Minister of Interior of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, met yesterday afternoon with Mr. Serik Zhumangarin, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Kazakhstan, who arrived in Kabul at the head of a high‑level official delegation.

The two sides held extensive discussions on a range of bilateral and regional issues.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the security situation, joint counter‑narcotics efforts, transit and transportation, technology cooperation, as well as the expansion of political and economic ties and regional collaboration.

Abdul Mateen Qani, spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior, stated that both sides emphasized that Afghanistan currently provides a suitable environment for the expansion of trade and investment, which should be utilized for the progress and development of both nations.

This meeting took place as Kazakhstan, as one of the key countries in the region, has consistently stressed the importance of strengthening economic and transit relations with Afghanistan.

Officials from both countries expressed hope that through continued consultations, areas of bilateral cooperation in infrastructure, energy, and the fight against drug trafficking would be further expanded.

They described this visit as an effective step toward consolidating strategic relations between Kabul and Astana.
