Ghazni – Students in Khogyani District Still Studying Under Tents

Omid ahmad ahmadi- GHAZNI – Khogyani district, one of the most remote districts of Ghazni province, still sees students studying without proper buildings and under tents.

Despite the strong interest and efforts of students to continue their education, several schools in this district remain without standard infrastructure, and pupils are engaged in learning under tents.

The lack of educational buildings and necessary facilities is considered one of the major challenges facing the education process in this region.

Local residents and education officials are calling for greater attention from responsible institutions to the education sector in this district, so that students can be provided with a safe and appropriate learning environment.

It is worth noting that access to standard education is one of the basic needs of children and teenagers in this district, and the development of educational infrastructure can play a significant role in the growth and development of the region.

· Khogyani has approximately 120 villages but only four official schools.
· Some classes have over 100 students with a single teacher.
· In addition to four formal schools, 15 community-based classes operate with UNICEF support.
· About 50 teachers currently serve the district, with plans to hire 25 more.
· Residents have donated five jeribs of land for a new school in the “Chob Tarash” area.
· Schools lack boundary walls, toilets, drinking water, and textbooks.
· Some children are forced to travel to Ghazni city to continue their studies.
