Immediate U.S. Reaction to Myanmar Earthquake Disaster: 2 Million in Humanitarian Aid and Emergency Team Deployment
Following the devastating earthquake on March 28 in the Sagaing region of Myanmar, the United States has announced a commitment of up to2 million in humanitarian assistance through reputable aid organizations active in the country to support the affected communities. This aid will be swiftly provided to meet critical needs such as emergency shelter, food, medical services, and access to clean drinking water.

Weezha Roz-Kabul-The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) has deployed a rapid response team to the disaster area to conduct a detailed assessment, prioritize urgent needs, and expedite the relief process.
This financial support will enable local and international organizations in Myanmar to provide uninterrupted aid services to thousands of homeless and injured families.
U.S. officials released a statement expressing that the United States stands with the resilient people of Myanmar in this dark hour. “We are committed to supporting the recovery and rebuilding of these regions.”
The 7.1 magnitude earthquake in Sagaing not only caused widespread infrastructure destruction but also claimed the lives of hundreds and left tens of thousands in urgent need of assistance.
Aid organizations have warned that a shortage of medical resources and the risk of disease outbreaks are exacerbating the crisis.
