Zelensky and Vucic Discuss Bilateral Cooperation and European Integration

Kabul-Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on the social media platform X that he held a phone conversation with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic. The two leaders discussed shared priorities, including Ukraine’s path toward European integration and strengthening bilateral cooperation.

Weezharoz– Zelensky emphasized that the discussion focused on enhancing cooperation under the “Ukraine Southeast Europe” framework an initiative aimed at strengthening regional ties and supporting integration with the European Union.

In recent years, Ukraine-Serbia relations have seen notable progress. Despite Serbia’s historical ties with Russia, Belgrade has repeatedly affirmed its support for Ukraine’s territorial integrity in international forums.

Additionally, Serbia has provided humanitarian aid to Ukraine and welcomed Ukrainian refugees, demonstrating practical support during ongoing conflict.

At the end of the call, both presidents agreed to pursue joint planning efforts and maintain regular contact to increase the effectiveness of their cooperation.

The dialogue highlights the mutual commitment of Ukraine and Serbia to deepening their bilateral relationship and advancing shared goals related to European integration.

Given current regional and global developments, such cooperation could play an important role in promoting stability and development in Southeast Europe.
