Kite flying in South Asia, including Pakistan and Afghanistan, has a century-old tradition and is considered part of spring and New Year celebrations.<\/p>\n

This ban has had a negative impact on the small kite string manufacturing industry.<\/p>\n

Many vendors, who were already facing reduced sales due to weak economic conditions, are now completely unemployed.<\/p>\n

Experience has shown that similar bans in the past have not been able to fully stop kite flying.<\/p>\n

The lack of a suitable alternative for glass-coated strings has effectively led to an increase in their illegal use.<\/p>\n

Many people, especially in rural areas, are unaware of the dangers of unregulated strings.<\/p>\n
