Weezha Roz<\/span>\u2013Pakistan<\/strong>\u2013In response to the negligence in handling the kidnapping and murder case of Mustafa Amir, the Commander of the South Karachi Region has suspended three senior police officers, including: Station House Officer (SHO) of Darakhshan, Agha Rashid, Senior Officer Zulfiqar, and Investigating Officer ASI Iftikhar.<\/p>\n

These officers are accused of failing to take serious action after the case was registered on January 7, 2025.<\/p>\n

The case of Mustafa Amir, a young man who was kidnapped and murdered, became a significant security and administrative challenge for Karachi police following media exposure and public pressure.<\/p>\n

Mustafa’s family stated that the police had not made any efforts to collect evidence or interrogate witnesses over the past month.<\/p>\n

This action is part of recent efforts by Karachi police to address administrative corruption and management weaknesses.<\/p>\n

Earlier, in December 2024, the Karachi Police Chief dismissed 13 officers for supporting criminal activities.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, in January 2025, three Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) officers were arrested for their involvement in the kidnapping and illegal transfer of $340,000 through bank accounts.<\/p>\n

This case has sparked widespread criticism from citizens and politicians alike.<\/p>\n

Dr. Saleem Haider, leader of the Muhajir Ittehad Movement, described the corruption in Karachi’s police force as “systemic and institutionalized” in his recent speech, calling for immediate reforms.<\/p>\n

Mustafa’s family also stated in a press conference: “We do not trust the justice system. The police only took action when the media exposed the case.”<\/p>\n

The Mustafa Amir case has now been referred to the Anti-Terrorism Court.<\/p>\n

This court had previously sentenced a police officer to death in 2023 for the murder of an innocent young man. Given similar cases, it is expected that the handling of this case will be expedited.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, Karachi Police has announced the formation of a special committee to review the performance of the suspended officers.<\/p>\n

This committee is required to submit a final report to the South Karachi Command within two weeks.<\/p>\n

The disclosure of this case in the media and the dissemination of details on social networks have played a crucial role in increasing pressure on the police.<\/p>\n

Users, with the hashtag #JusticeForMustafa, have demanded a fair investigation.<\/p>\n
