On the other hand, in this hot weather, the lack of electricity has made life very difficult.”

Mahsa, another resident of Kabul city, shared a similar view. She told weezharoz daily: “We only have electricity for three hours during the day, which has created many problems for people.

In this hot weather, the need for electricity is felt more, but outages have increased. Also, the widespread use of electrical appliances such as fans, refrigerators, and air conditioners by people could be one of the factors behind this problem.”

Sara, a resident of Kabul city, told weezharoz daily: “We have no electricity from morning, and power is only available from 12 noon to 4 PM. After that, it is cut off again and usually comes back at around 8 or 9 PM.

In these hot days, power outages have increased significantly and caused many problems for people. The lack of electricity affects everyone’s daily life.

When the power is off, electrical appliances cannot be used, and many tasks are postponed until the electricity comes back on.”

Mohammad Sadeq Haqparast, spokesperson for Breshna Company (the state power utility), told weezharoz daily: “There is no specific complication regarding power outages in Kabul.

The main problem is that excessive heat and cold always lead to the use of appliances that are not normally used most of the time. This is why electricity problems arise.

The heat has increased, and appliances such as air conditioners and fans are being used more. Naturally, the use of these appliances causes outages.

In Kabul and Nangarhar, the population is large and the demand for electricity is higher, which is why power outage problems have arisen.”

He added: “The second factor is overloading. In a transformer that should serve 200 families, during the Republic era, transformers were distributed to 500, 600, 700, and even 1,000 families. In an area that needs 5 megawatts, only 3 megawatts of electricity is being transmitted, and the quality of the lines in Kabul is low. When usage increases, pressure is put on the lines.”

Haqparast said that Breshna Company has done a lot of work in this area: “Previously, our network was weak and could not handle 24-hour power transmission.

You witnessed 32-hour power supply over the past two months.

Because we had replaced transformers and lines with new ones, we had increased their capacity, and the problem has largely been resolved.

The population of Kabul is large, electricity distribution has increased, and solving the problem completely will take time.”

It is worth noting that in recent years, Kabul city has faced serious challenges in electricity supply due to population growth and the increased use of electrical appliances, especially during the summer season.

As temperatures rise, the use of cooling appliances such as fans, air conditioners, and refrigerators increases, putting more pressure on the power distribution network.

Citizens say that frequent power outages have not only disrupted their daily lives but have also negatively affected commercial, educational, and service activities.

Under such circumstances, Kabul residents call on officials to take necessary measures to improve the power supply situation and reduce outages.

end

Nazanin Walizadeh, a resident of the Qowai area in central Kabul, told weezharoz daily: “We have almost no electricity during the day, and this has caused me to fall behind in my daily activities.
