Weezha Roz<\/span>-Kabul<\/strong>-The massive project, inaugurated with the presence of Hamidullah Akhundzada, Acting Minister of Transport and Aviation, private sector representatives, and several local residents, is being hailed as one of Afghanistan’s strategic projects, promising a major transformation in domestic and regional connectivity.<\/p>\n

During the inauguration ceremony, the Deputy Prime Minister highlighted decades of neglect in infrastructure development due to war and corruption.<\/p>\n

He acknowledged that the country\u2019s transportation infrastructure had been severely damaged due to poor quality, encroachment on public property, and mismanagement.<\/p>\n

However, he assured that today, revitalizing this sector with modern standards is a top priority for the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.<\/p>\n

He further added: “The construction of the Arghandi terminal, which includes 42 modern facilities, will not only reduce transportation costs and traffic congestion but also create thousands of job opportunities for citizens and serve as a vital step in connecting the national economy to regional markets.”<\/p>\n

The Arghandi Transport Terminal, covering an area of approximately 900 jeribs, is being built by the private sector at a cost of 1.285 billion Afghanis over a period of two years.<\/p>\n

This terminal will offer modern services, integrated traffic management, reduced transport time, and better organization of the transportation system, bringing a significant transformation to the country’s logistics system.<\/p>\n

It is projected that the project will reduce transportation costs by 30%, facilitate both domestic and foreign trade, and create more than 2,000 direct and indirect job opportunities, playing a key role in the growth of the local and national economy.<\/p>\n

Additionally, the reclamation of illegally occupied lands and the restoration of public property rights in this project have been highlighted as an example of fighting administrative corruption.<\/p>\n

Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund concluded by emphasizing: “The Islamic Emirate is determined to transform Afghanistan into a regional transit hub by utilizing modern technology and partnering with the private sector.”<\/p>\n

This terminal is just the beginning, with larger projects underway.<\/p>\n

It is noteworthy that the completion of this project by the end of 2027 will significantly enhance economic activity along the Kabul-Ghazni-Kandahar route and strengthen Afghanistan\u2019s position in Central Asia’s trade corridors.<\/p>\n
