Trump and Putin Stress Russia’s Response to Ukraine Attacks, Share Concern Over Iran’s Nuclear Program

Washington-In the wake of a massive drone attack by Ukraine on Russian airbases, U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin held a 75-minute phone call on Wednesday, June 4, 2025. The discussion focused on rising tensions in the Ukraine war and growing concerns over Iran’s nuclear ambitions.

Weezharoz-In a statement, Trump said President Putin firmly expressed his intention to respond to the recent drone strikes by Ukraine.

Over 100 drones reportedly targeted Russian airfields, causing significant damage to strategic bombers.

Trump noted that while the call was productive, it was not one that would lead to immediate peace. However, both leaders emphasized the need to prevent further escalation.

The two presidents also addressed Iran’s nuclear program. Both agreed that Iran must not be allowed to obtain a nuclear weapon.

President Putin offered to participate in negotiations with Iran to help prevent it from developing nuclear arms.
