Trilateral Meeting of Foreign Ministers of China, Afghanistan, and Pakistan Held in Beijing
Beijing-In a significant trilateral meeting held on Wednesday in Beijing, the foreign ministers of China, Afghanistan, and Pakistan reaffirmed their commitment to expanding economic, diplomatic, and security cooperation. The session was hosted by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and attended by Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, and Amir Khan Muttaqi, Acting Foreign Minister of Afghanistan.

Weezharoz– During the meeting, the three sides agreed to extend the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) into Afghanistan within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, aiming to enhance regional connectivity and shared economic interests.
The ministers emphasized the importance of deepening political trust and maintaining good-neighborly relations.
Afghanistan and Pakistan also agreed to exchange ambassadors in the near future a move welcomed by China as a step toward improved bilateral ties.
China and Pakistan reiterated their support for Afghanistan’s reconstruction and development, calling for greater trade engagement and capacity-building to boost the country’s self-reliant progress.
All three countries strongly condemned terrorism in all its forms and agreed to strengthen security and intelligence cooperation to jointly combat terrorist groups that threaten regional stability.
They also warned against foreign interference in the internal affairs of the region.
The parties resolved to make use of the trilateral dialogue mechanism and agreed to hold the sixth round of the Trilateral Foreign Ministers’ Dialogue soon in Kabul, Afghanistan.
This meeting reflected a shared effort to boost regional connectivity, foster economic cooperation, ease diplomatic tensions, and jointly address security challenges.
China’s role as a facilitator underscored its commitment to promoting peace and sustainable development in the region.
