Three Afghan Journalists Injured in Pakistan-Afghanistan Border Clash
Three Afghan journalists were injured on Wednesday afternoon during an exchange of fire between Pakistani and Afghan border forces in the contested border regions.

Weezha Roz-Kabul-According to a report by Hujatullah Mujaddidi, head of the Afghan Journalists’ Association, the injured journalists are Wali Muhammad Shinwari from Pajhwok News Agency, Azizulhasan Na’mani from Radio Hurriyat, and Hidayat Shah from Shamshad TV.
Mujaddidi told Weezha Roz that Hidayat Shah (Shamshad TV journalist) was discharged from the medical center after receiving first aid and confirmation of his stable condition.
Azizulhasan Na’mani (Radio Hurriyat journalist) is undergoing emergency surgery at Nangarhar Provincial Hospital due to shrapnel injuries.
Wali Muhammad Shinwari (Pajhwok journalist) has begun surgical procedures after being transferred to the hospital.
Abu Zar Sarem Saripul, head of Afghanistan’s media regulatory body, alleged to Weezha Roz that “a Pakistani drone targeted the journalists, leading to their injuries.” Pakistani authorities have yet to confirm or deny this claim.
Mujaddidi condemned the incident and demanded “an immediate and transparent investigation by both sides.”
Human rights organizations in Afghanistan also stressed the necessity of protecting journalists in conflict zones.
The Afghanistan-Pakistan border regions have long witnessed sporadic clashes due to territorial disputes.
This incident marks the first direct targeting of journalists in recent months.
