The Minister of Industry and Commerce Met with the Iranian Foreign Minister

Weezha Roz-Seyed Abbas Araghchi, the Foreign Minister of Iran, who had traveled to Kabul at the head of an official delegation, met with Nooruddin Azizi, the Minister of Industry and Commerce of Afghanistan, as part of his ongoing consultations.
During the meeting, both sides discussed the latest developments in economic and trade relations between Iran and Afghanistan and ways to expand bilateral economic and commercial exchanges.
The Minister of Industry and Commerce of Afghanistan, highlighting the strong and longstanding relations between Iran and Afghanistan, as well as the historical, religious, linguistic, and cultural ties between the two nations, expressed gratitude for Iran’s hospitality to millions of Afghan refugees over the past few decades.
Nooruddin Azizi emphasized the importance of improving economic relations between the two countries and removing trade barriers.
He also stressed the necessity of activating the Chabahar Port and facilitating transit through the Bandar Abbas Port.
He outlined the excellent investment opportunities in Afghanistan and reaffirmed that the Ministry of Industry and Commerce of Afghanistan is determined to pave the way for enhancing production, improving Afghanistan’s economic and industrial situation, and facilitating investment by Iranian companies.
Meanwhile, the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the Iranian Foreign Minister emphasized the need to identify and utilize the numerous opportunities for economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.
He affirmed that Iran supports the development of private sector activities in various industries, agriculture, trade, transportation, and transit between the two countries.
The meeting was followed by a joint session of businessmen and economic activists from both Iran and Afghanistan, hosted by the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce, with the participation of both ministers.
