Technical Meeting Between Afghanistan and Turkmenistan to Advance Key Power Projects

Kabul-A delegation from the technical team of Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS) traveled to Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan, yesterday as part of an official visit to discuss the progress of key energy transmission projects with their Turkmen counterparts.

Weezharoz-During this technical meeting, both sides placed particular focus on major infrastructure projects, including the 500 kV Turkmenistan Dasht-e Alwan transmission line, Dasht-e Alwan substation, and Arghandi substation.

These projects are currently under active implementation within Afghanistan.

According to DABS officials, the purpose of the visit is to enhance coordination, accelerate implementation, and resolve technical obstacles to ensure the timely completion of these vital projects, which are critical for ensuring stable power supply in Afghanistan.

Technical teams from DABS and Turkmenenergo are set to review progress, finalize a detailed timeline, agree on a joint work strategy, and address remaining technical issues.

This meeting marks an important step toward the successful launch of regional energy projects and strengthening technical cooperation between Afghanistan and Turkmenistan an effort that can significantly improve the country’s power infrastructure.
