Strengthening Kabul-Riyadh Relations: The Visit of the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan to Saudi Arabia

Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, announced the visit of Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, the country's Foreign Minister, to Saudi Arabia. This trip is being described as an important step in strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing political and diplomatic ties between Kabul and Riyadh.

Weezharoz-Kabul–According to the spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate, this visit demonstrates the two countries’ commitment to expanding cooperation across various fields and maintaining strong, positive relations.

Mujahid emphasized in a statement, “The warm welcome and high-level ceremonial protocol extended by Saudi officials to the Afghan Foreign Minister reflects Riyadh’s goodwill and intention to preserve and deepen ties with Kabul.”

He added that the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has always been committed to building constructive relationships with the Islamic world and regional countries, and this trip is a strategic opportunity to advance dialogue and joint coordination.

This visit comes at a time when Saudi Arabia has been playing a more active role in relation to developments in Afghanistan in recent months.

Analysts view the official reception of Muttaqi as a sign of Riyadh’s desire to reclaim its position in regional dynamics and support stability in Afghanistan.

It is expected that discussions between the officials of the two countries will cover topics such as economic cooperation, support for humanitarian projects, and issues related to regional security.
