Senior Iranian Military Commanders Killed in Israeli Airstrikes
Tehran-Several senior commanders of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s armed forces were killed following large-scale Israeli airstrikes targeting Iran’s military and nuclear facilities in the early hours of Friday, June 13, 2025.

weezharoz-According to reports, Major General Hossein Salami, Commander-in-Chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), was among those killed.
Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh, Commander of the IRGC Aerospace Force, and General Gholam Ali Rashid, head of Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, also lost their lives.
Iranian media outlets have confirmed the deaths.
The attacks also claimed the lives of senior figures such as Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, and Ali Shamkhani, senior advisor to the Supreme Leader.
Nuclear scientists Fereydoon Abbasi and Mohammad Mehdi Tehranchi were also killed in the strikes.
Described as one of the most significant blows to Iran’s military leadership in recent years, the incident has sparked widespread reactions both domestically and internationally.
While Iranian officials have yet to officially release detailed statements, sources close to the government report that emergency meetings are underway to assess the scope of the attack.
