Russia and Uzbekistan Agree on Fish Catch Quotas

Weezha Roz– Uzbekistan and Russia have reached an agreement on fish catch quotas for 2025. The two sides discussed the prospects and opportunities for cooperation in the fisheries sector.
An agreement was made to allocate fish catch quotas for Uzbekistan in the Far Eastern fishery basin, which will include 20,000 tons of pollock and 5,000 tons of herring.
The parties also discussed scientific and technical cooperation in fish farming, the development of joint projects and programs, as well as the training of specialized personnel for the fisheries industry.
For the year 2024, the total fish catch quota for Uzbekistan in Russia was 50,000 tons of pollock and 20,000 tons of herring.
Rosrybolovstvo and the association “Uzbekbalyksanoat” also agreed to sign an additional agreement on the allocation of fishing quotas.
