Release of Nine Afghan Prisoners from Oman; Afghan Foreign Ministry Thanks Omani Sultanate for Humanitarian Gesture

Kabul–The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan announced that, following a special decree issued by the Sultanate of Oman on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, nine Afghan nationals who had been imprisoned in Oman have been released.

Weezharoz-According to the official statement, the order for their release was issued by Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, the ruler of Oman, and is considered a gesture rooted in humanitarian and Islamic values.

Out of the nine released individuals, six have already returned to Afghanistan following coordination with relevant authorities, and the remaining three are expected to return soon.

The released individuals are: Wali Shah Khan Termir, Imran Maqbool, Malik Jan Jumma Mir, Basira Asil, Hai-ud-Din Shawardi, Arzat Razaq, Nuri Majid, Rahmatullah Bismillah, and Musa Mohammad Tokhi.

The Afghan Foreign Ministry expressed gratitude for this benevolent act, thanking the Sultanate of Oman for its humanitarian concern for Afghan citizens and for the positive bilateral relations between the two nations.

The ministry also voiced hope that cooperation and friendly engagement between Kabul and Muscat will expand in the future.

This initiative is seen as a positive step towards strengthening bilateral ties and mutual respect between the two Muslim nations.
