Pezeshkian: Iran Is Not the Initiator of War but Will Respond Firmly to Aggression
Tehran-Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian declared in a tweet that he had a phone conversation with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, during which he explained the Islamic Republic’s position on the recent escalation with Israel.
Weezharoz-“We did not start the war, but we will respond decisively to the Zionists’ crimes. At every level they attack, they will receive a proportional response,” Pezeshkian wrote.
He further emphasized: “We do not seek to expand the war, but any aggression against Iran will be met with a regret-inducing response.”
These remarks come amid unprecedented tensions between Iran and Israel, with fears rising of a broader regional conflict.
The phone call is seen as part of Tehran’s diplomatic outreach to clarify its stance to regional partners and possibly rally support or restraint amid the volatile situation.
