Pakistan Warns of Possible Indian Military Strike Following Deadly Kashmir Attack

Kabul-Tensions between India and Pakistan have significantly escalated following a deadly attack in the Kashmir region that claimed the lives of 26 people. On Monday, Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif warned that a military strike from India is imminent and stated that Pakistan has bolstered its forces in response to the threat.

Weezharoz-The attack, which sparked widespread outrage in India, has been attributed to a group called the “Kashmir Resistance.”

India alleges that the group operates with Pakistani support, an accusation Islamabad firmly denies, instead calling for an impartial investigation into the incident.

In response to the attack, India has suspended the Indus Waters Treaty, a key bilateral agreement, while Pakistan has closed its airspace to Indian aircraft.

These retaliatory moves have fueled further tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbors.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has vowed to pursue and punish those responsible for the attack.

In turn, Pakistan’s Defense Minister emphasized that his country would only resort to nuclear weapons if its very existence were threatened.

Islamabad has also reached out to friendly nations, including several Gulf states and China, and has briefed the United Kingdom, the United States, and others on the situation.

China has called for restraint, while the United States remains in contact with both countries in an effort to de-escalate the crisis.

Given the long history of military conflicts between India and Pakistan over the Kashmir region, fears are growing over the possibility of a broader confrontation between the two nuclear powers.
