Pakistan Security Operation for Deportation of Undocumented Afghan Nationals; Over 840,000 Return to Afghanistan
According to official statistics, over 840,000 undocumented Afghan nationals have been deported from Pakistan and returned to Afghanistan. This action comes after the expiration of the deadline set by the Pakistani government for the voluntary departure of Afghan nationals without legal residency documents. The operation by Pakistan's security forces to identify and deport these individuals has intensified.

Weezharoz-Islamabad-Pakistani officials have urged citizens to cooperate in the implementation of this plan by reporting the presence of undocumented Afghans in residential, commercial, or local community areas to the police.
This request has been accompanied by public messages in the media and on social networks: “Be a responsible citizen; inform authorities about undocumented Afghans.”
The Pakistani government has stated that the goal of this operation is to “cleanse the country of threatening elements, including terrorists, human traffickers, drug dealers, and transnational networks.”
A spokesman for Pakistan’s Ministry of Interior emphasized in a statement that this action is necessary to maintain national security and combat organized crime.
On the other hand, criticism has been raised about the execution of this plan and its impact on Afghan families residing in Pakistan. Many of these individuals have been living in Pakistan for decades.
However, Pakistani authorities have stated that only those without valid residency documents will be affected by this operation.
Although the Afghan government has not yet made an official statement, local sources report increased pressure at the borders and humanitarian issues arising from the large-scale return of migrants.
International organizations have also called for attention to the rights of refugees and urged the avoidance of discriminatory actions.
This operation takes place amid deteriorating relations between Islamabad and Kabul in recent months due to border and security disputes.
Experts warn that the widespread deportation of Afghans could exacerbate regional tensions and the humanitarian crisis at the borders of the two countries.
