Pakistan Issues Stark Warning to India: Military Strike Possible Within 24–36 Hours

Islamabad-Tensions between India and Pakistan have surged to a boiling point following a deadly attack in Indian-administered Kashmir that claimed the lives of 26 tourists. New Delhi has accused Islamabad of backing the militants responsible for the assault—a charge Pakistan strongly denies, calling instead for an impartial international investigation.

Weezharoz-In response to the allegations, Pakistan’s Information Minister Attaullah Tarar warned that credible intelligence indicates a potential Indian military strike within the next 24 to 36 hours.

He stated that Pakistan is on high alert and will respond with full force to any act of aggression.

Citing intelligence reports of Indian military preparations, Tarar emphasized, “Our forces are fully prepared for any incursion.”

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif described the likelihood of an attack as “very high,” and reaffirmed that Islamabad would only consider the use of nuclear capabilities if the nation’s existence is directly threatened.

As tensions escalate, India has suspended the Indus Waters Treaty, a longstanding bilateral agreement, while Pakistan has closed its airspace to Indian flights.

Cross-border skirmishes along the Line of Control (LoC) have intensified, with Pakistan claiming to have downed an Indian drone.

The latest crisis highlights the enduring volatility of Kashmir—a region long contested by the nuclear-armed neighbors and now once again at the center of regional instability.

In response, the United States and other global actors have urged restraint and called for both countries to return to the path of diplomacy.

Analysts warn that if left unchecked, the situation could spiral into a broader regional or even global conflict—unless meaningful dialogue and effective mediation are urgently pursued.

Is Kashmir once again on the brink of igniting a full-scale confrontation? The future hinges on decisions made in the critical days ahead.
