Official Visit of Iranian Foreign Minister to Pakistan: Emphasis on Bilateral Cooperation and Regional Issues
Islamabad- Seyed Abbas Araghchi, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, arrived in Pakistan on an official visit aimed at holding high-level discussions with Pakistani leadership. The purpose of the visit was to review and strengthen bilateral cooperation in areas such as trade, economy, border security, and to exchange views on key regional and international developments.

Weezharoz-During his visit, Araghchi met with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar of Pakistan.
Both sides stressed the importance of deepening bilateral ties and agreed to enhance cooperation in the fields of energy, security, and safeguarding border integrity.
In a joint press conference with his Pakistani counterpart, Araghchi referenced recent Israeli attacks on Iran, emphasizing that while the Islamic Republic does not seek escalation, it reserves the right to self-defense in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter.
He also expressed appreciation to Pakistan for condemning the attacks.
At the conclusion of the visit, the Iranian Foreign Minister stated that Tehran and Islamabad are fully aligned on key regional issues particularly regarding Gaza and Lebanon and have agreed to adopt unified positions at upcoming international platforms, including the forthcoming session of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
This visit comes as Iran and Pakistan, with over 900 kilometers of shared border and deep cultural and historical ties, reaffirm their strategic relationship and mutual commitment to enhancing cooperation across all domains.
