New Step in Kabul-Islamabad Ties: Foreign Ministers Hold Key Talks

Kabul-Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan, and Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, held a telephone conversation to discuss the enhancement of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

weezharoz-During the conversation, both sides described the upgrading of diplomatic missions in Kabul and Islamabad to the ambassadorial level as a positive and constructive step, expressing hope that the remaining formalities would be completed soon.

They emphasized that elevating diplomatic relations could pave the way for expanded cooperation in trade, transit, regional security, and people-to-people engagement between Afghanistan and Pakistan.

This call comes at a time when bilateral relations have faced tensions in recent months. Observers view the development as a sign of renewed efforts to rebuild diplomatic ties between the neighboring nations.
