“Ne Zha 2” Becomes the Highest-Grossing Animated Film in History

Weezha Roz-The Chinese ticketing platform “Maoyan” has revised its forecast for the animated film “Ne Zha 2,” announcing that the film is likely to reach a total revenue of 14.25 billion yuan (approximately 1.99 billion U.S. dollars) in the Chinese market.

This new projection, released on Monday night, positions “Ne Zha 2” as the highest-grossing animated film in global box office history, and it is expected to be among the top seven highest-grossing films of all time across all categories globally.

According to a report from Xinhua, this forecast came just one day after Maoyan had raised its domestic box office projection for the film to over 12 billion yuan, up from its previous estimate of 10.8 billion yuan.

This demonstrates the massive success of the film in China’s domestic market.

“Ne Zha 2,” as the first Chinese film expected to surpass the 10 billion yuan mark in the Chinese market, is seen as a significant milestone in the history of Chinese cinema.

This success also signals the growing rise of Chinese animated cinema and its global achievements.

With this remarkable success, “Ne Zha 2” may be recognized as one of the greatest films in the history of cinema worldwide, standing alongside other major cinematic works.
