Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar’s Emphasis on Unity and Harmony in Afghanistan

Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, the Economic Deputy of the Prime Minister’s Office of Afghanistan, emphasized in a gathering with the Shia community, held today (Thursday) at the Loya Jirga hall, that Afghanistan is a country composed of various ethnicities, religions, cultures, and languages. He stated that this diversity should serve as a means of better understanding one another, not as a tool for political exploitation.

Weezha Roz-Kabul–In his speech, he said, “The ethnic and religious diversity in Afghanistan should be considered as an opportunity for mutual understanding and greater harmony among the people, rather than being viewed through the lens of prejudice and division.”

He added that unfortunately, in the past, before the rise of the Islamic Emirate, this diversity had been misused as a tool to create discord and political exploitation.

The Economic Deputy of the Prime Minister’s Office further stated, “Some individuals and groups have used ethnic, linguistic, and regional diversity to pursue their selfish goals, which has resulted in deep divisions within society and transformed groups into ethnic and religious factions.”

Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar continued, saying that these divisions and conflicts among ethnic groups have weakened national unity and harmony, ultimately leading to greater instability.

He also stressed that the Islamic Emirate will strive to promote unity and solidarity in the country, and calls for constructive and respectful engagement among all ethnic groups and factions of Afghanistan.

These remarks, made during an official gathering, have drawn significant attention to the need for greater unity and the end of ethnic and religious divisions in Afghanistan.
