Meeting between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and Turkish Officials

The Second Deputy of the Political Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Mr. Zakir Jalali, along with his delegation, met in Ankara with the Head of the South Asia Department of the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the former Turkish Ambassador to Kabul, Mr. Jihad Erginay.

Weezha Roz-Kabul-During the meeting, officials from both countries discussed the recent developments in their bilateral relations, future steps, trade and transit opportunities, and other important issues of mutual interest.

Mr. Zakir Jalali began by expressing gratitude to Turkey for its assistance in removing obstacles to bilateral relations and expressed hope that practical cooperation would proceed more swiftly and robustly in the future.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan stated in a press release that Mr. Jalali also handed over a message from the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan, which had been written to his Turkish counterpart.

Mr. Jihad Erginay emphasized the importance of political consultations between the two countries and stated that Turkey is eager to expand its relations with Afghanistan in various fields.

The meeting also focused on the establishment of a joint commission to follow up on bilateral affairs, ensuring that various issues, particularly trade and transit matters, are closely monitored.

Additionally, both sides agreed to continue similar meetings between the ministries of foreign affairs of the two countries on a regular basis to further facilitate cooperation.

This meeting is considered an important step toward strengthening bilateral relations and expanding practical cooperation between Afghanistan and Turkey.
