Launch of the Sar Khab Dam Maintenance and Two Checkdam Projects in Logar Province
The projects for the maintenance of Sar Khab Dam and two checkdams in Logar province were inaugurated with the presence of relevant officials and local residents. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Acting Minister of Water and Energy, Mullah Abdul Latif Mansoor, Logar Governor Sheikh Zia-ur-Rahman Madani, regional authorities, several department heads from the Ministry of Water and Energy, and a large number of local residents.

Weezha Roz-Logar-Mullah Abdul Latif Mansoor emphasized that the officials of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan are working tirelessly day and night to develop the country, and over the past three years, many projects have been implemented in various sectors for the country’s progress and development.
Logar Governor Sheikh Zia-ur-Rahman Madani also mentioned that the implementation of these projects will significantly impact the development of agriculture and the economic improvement of the people in the region.
He urged the people to cooperate in the protection and maintenance of these projects.
Officials from the Ministry of Water and Energy and local authorities provided information on the quality and value of these projects, calling the implementation of these initiatives a positive step for better water resource management.
The Sar Khab Dam Maintenance and Protection Project, costing 11 million Afghanis, was implemented by the Ministry of Water and Energy.
The dam has a capacity to store 9 million cubic meters of water and will irrigate 3,000 hectares of farmland, benefiting 9,000 families both directly and indirectly.
Additionally, the two checkdams, with a total cost of 5 million Afghanis, have a combined storage capacity of 16,000 cubic meters of water.
These projects are vital steps in better water resource management and improving the living conditions of the people in the region.
