Khamenei’s Strong Warning to Trump: “Military Option is Unwise; Iran’s Response Will Be Decisive”

Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of Iran, responded to recent statements by Donald Trump regarding the potential use of military action if Iran refuses to negotiate, calling the threat "unwise" and emphasizing that: "Any misstep by the U.S. and its allies will have severe consequences. We are not seeking war, but we will give a decisive and unwavering response to any aggressive actions."

Weezha Roz-Tehran– In his remarks, Khamenei also addressed Western concerns regarding Iran’s nuclear program, rejecting allegations of pursuing nuclear weapons and stating: “If we intended to build a nuclear weapon, the U.S. would not be able to prevent it.

Their claims are merely a pretext for maximum pressure on the Iranian people.” He added, “Iran’s nuclear capabilities are entirely peaceful and under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency.”

These statements come amidst escalating tensions between Tehran and Washington, following the U.S. unilateral withdrawal from the 2015 nuclear deal (JCPOA) in 2018 and the subsequent intensification of sanctions.

Donald Trump had recently warned that if Iran refused direct negotiations, “all options, including military action, are on the table.”

Khamenei also described the U.S.’s “maximum pressure” policy as a “failure,” asserting, “These pressures have not only failed to subdue the Iranian people but have strengthened internal unity and resistance to coercion.”

Addressing U.S. leaders, Khamenei emphasized: “Do not repeat the historic mistake made by previous American administrations.

Four decades of experience have shown that threats and warmongering only increase your costs.”

International experts suggest that this statement was issued at a time when economic pressure on Iran due to U.S. sanctions is unprecedented, yet Iran remains committed to its missile program and regional presence.
