Istanbul Meeting of Islamic Foreign Ministers: Condemnation of Israeli Strikes on Iran Amid Diplomatic Contradictions

Istanbul-Foreign ministers of Islamic countries convened in Istanbul on Saturday to express solidarity with Iran and strongly condemn Israel’s recent military strikes on Iranian territory.

Weezharoz-While the final statement emphasized the “need for unity in the Islamic world against Zionist aggression,” the presence of countries like Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and Syria which, according to some sources, have quietly supported Israeli actions against Iran drew attention from observers.

Iran has repeatedly criticized certain Arab nations for allegedly providing intelligence or airspace access to Israel for operations targeting Iranian interests across the region.

Analysts say that while the gathering projected a façade of Islamic unity, it simultaneously exposed deep geopolitical rifts and underlying tensions within the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

Despite the formal support voiced for Iran, the conflicting positions of some attending states underscore the complexity of regional alliances and the continuing influence of global powers on the policies of Islamic countries.
