Israeli Army: 9 Senior Iranian Nuclear Scientists Killed in Air Operation
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced late Friday that it successfully targeted and "neutralized" nine senior scientists and experts involved in Iran’s nuclear weapons program during a large-scale air operation dubbed "Dawn of the Lions."
Weezharoz-In a statement posted on social media platform X, the IDF emphasized that the individuals played key roles in advancing Iran’s nuclear weapons ambitions.
The operation, according to the military, was based on “precise and targeted intelligence” aimed at eliminating the “scientific core of Iran’s military nuclear project.”
Among the names listed were:
-Akbar Motlabizadeh, chemical engineering expert.
-Mohammad Mehdi Tehranchi, senior weapons scientist and physics specialist.
-Mansour Asgari, physicist involved in laser uranium enrichment.
-Amir Hossein Fekahi, nuclear physics specialist.
Hebrew-language sources also published graphics labeling these individuals as “neutralized.”
Iranian officials have not yet commented on the reports, and independent sources have not verified the claims.
Analysts suggest that targeting scientific and technical personnel reflects a shift in Israel’s strategy focusing on weakening Iran’s nuclear capabilities through human capital disruption, not just infrastructure strikes.
