Indirect Iran-U.S. Talks Halted Amid Regional Tensions

Tehran-In light of recent regional developments, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has announced that indirect negotiations between Tehran and Washington, which had been underway with Omani mediation, have been suspended due to the current sensitive conditions in the region.

Weezharoz-Speaking during his visit to Muscat, Araghchi stated: “At present, there is no foundation for continuing these negotiations, and no decision on resuming the process will be made until the ongoing crises are resolved.”

He further emphasized that he had not delivered any messages to other countries during the trip but had directly conveyed Iran’s positions to regional officials.

The suspension comes despite earlier plans to hold a new round of talks in Rome, which was postponed due to logistical reasons.

With escalating tensions in the region—including the recent flare-up between Iran and Israel the future of negotiations between Tehran and Washington remains increasingly uncertain.
