In a month, a total of 408,876 metric tons of goods were transported via the railway lines

Weezha Roz-Specifically, from the beginning to the end of the month of Jadi in the year 1403 AH (Solar Hijri calendar), the Ministry of Public Works of Afghanistan reported that 408,876 metric tons of goods were transported through the railway lines.

The Ministry stated that during this period, the breakdown of goods transported through various ports was as follows:Hairatan Port: 302,327 metric tons, Aqina Port: 27,045 metric tons,
Torghundi Port: 70,564 metric tons,
Khaf-Herat Port: 8,940 metric tons.

The total of 408,876 metric tons included petroleum products, non-petroleum goods, and other materials that were imported and exported.

The Ministry further mentioned that a portion of these transfers included transit and export goods. In the month of Jadi, 1,698 metric tons of commercial goods were transited and exported, with a significant portion being dried fruits, kinnow (a type of citrus fruit), rice, and pomegranate juice.

The Ministry of Public Works of Afghanistan added that they are working to create better conditions for transportation and to provide more facilities for traders.

Over the past nine months, approximately 3.2 million metric tons of goods have been transported through Afghanistan’s railway lines.
