IEA Foreign Minister Attends OIC Council of Foreign Ministers in Istanbul

Istanbul–Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, Foreign Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, arrived in Istanbul on Saturday to attend the 51st session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

Weezharoz-According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister Muttaqi is expected to deliver a speech at the session and hold bilateral meetings on the sidelines with foreign ministers of various Islamic countries.

These meetings are set to focus on key topics such as bilateral relations, regional cooperation, migration issues, trade, security, and broader diplomatic engagement with the Islamic world.

Afghanistan’s participation comes as the Islamic Emirate continues its efforts to increase engagement with international and Islamic institutions to gain formal recognition and ease ongoing diplomatic and economic pressures.

The 51st OIC session, attended by dozens of member states, is being held with a central focus on recent regional developments, particularly the situations in Palestine and Iran. A joint statement addressing recent escalations is expected.
