High-Level Islamic Emirate Delegation Arrives in Tashkent; A New Step in Regional and Economic Cooperation

A high-level delegation from the Islamic Emirate, led by Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, arrived in the capital of Uzbekistan today. The delegation, accompanied by cabinet members and representatives of sectoral institutions, aims to strengthen economic cooperation and enhance regional ties between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan.

Weezha Roz-Tashkent-The visit is intended to promote economic collaboration and the development of regional links between the two countries.

At Tashkent airport, the Afghan delegation was greeted by Jamshed Khodjaev, Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, Ismatulla Irgashev, the Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan, and Sheikh Abdul Ghafar Bahr, the Ambassador of the Islamic Emirate to Uzbekistan.

Both sides emphasized their readiness to engage in discussions on key areas, including the development of regional trade, infrastructure projects in energy and transportation, and the expansion of bilateral cooperation.

Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, during this visit focused on “connecting Afghanistan to the Central Asian economic corridors,” is expected to discuss joint projects in areas such as energy transfer, water resource management, and the improvement of transit networks.

Uzbek officials also stated that developing relations with Kabul, especially under the initiative “Connecting Central Asia to South Asia,” is a priority for them.

This visit is part of the Islamic Emirate’s recent efforts to expand international interactions. Prior to this, similar delegations had visited Qatar, Iran, and China.

Analysts consider these actions to be a significant step towards gaining regional and international support and rebuilding Afghanistan’s position in Asia’s economic landscape.
