Weezha Roz-Hamid Karzai, the former President of Afghanistan, has welcomed the final statement of the Muslim World League Conference, issued in Pakistan, which focused on the opportunities and challenges of girls’ education in the Muslim world.
Karzai emphasized that girls’ education is an undeniable and fundamental right, and preventing it is against the national interests and the higher welfare of the country, and is unjustifiable.
The former president, acknowledging the vital and constructive role of women and girls in the development and progress of the country, as well as in maintaining societal stability and strengthening families, once again called on the Afghan government to reopen schools and universities for girls as soon as possible.
He stated that providing access to education for all young people would revive hope for a dignified life in the country and prevent people from being forced to leave Afghanistan.
This senior official further noted that Afghanistan, relying on the talents and knowledge of its youth, will follow the path of progress and self-sufficiency.
