Focus on Scientific, Humanitarian, and Capacity-Building Cooperation in Afghan Foreign Minister’s Meeting with Qatari Officials
Kabul-Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, in separate meetings with Ms. Maryam bint Ali Al-Misnad, Qatar’s Minister of State for International Cooperation, and Ms. Lolwah Al-Khater, Minister of Higher Education, emphasized expanding scientific, cultural, and humanitarian cooperation between Afghanistan and Qatar.

Weezharoz-These meetings, held within the framework of strengthening bilateral relations, focused on improving the delivery of humanitarian assistance, effective aid management, capacity-building, and academic and cultural collaboration.
The Afghan Foreign Minister, highlighting the urgent needs of the country particularly in the health sector stressed the importance of building hospitals, enhancing local capacity, and supporting returning refugees.
He stated that prioritizing the real needs of the people is key to successful international aid.
In his meeting with the Qatari Minister of Higher Education, both sides discussed expanding cooperation in scientific education, cultural exchange, and specialized training of academic staff.
Muttaqi called on Qatar to help provide advanced training opportunities for Afghan lecturers and to support joint academic projects.
The Qatari officials reaffirmed their commitment to continued humanitarian, educational, and developmental support for the people of Afghanistan, and appreciated the active role of the Islamic Emirate in facilitating such cooperation.
These meetings reflect a mutual interest in strengthening bilateral relations in humanitarian, academic, and cultural spheres and may mark the beginning of a new phase of constructive engagement between Kabul and Doha.
