Federal Special Task Force Takes on Anti-Semitism in U.S. Classrooms; Mayors of 4 Major Cities Under Scrutiny
The Federal Special Task Force on Combating Anti-Semitism, citing an executive order by President Trump, has called the mayors and officials of four major U.S. cities to the table for discussions. The goal of these meetings is to review the performance of schools and universities in these cities over the past two years regarding anti-Semitic incidents and to examine accusations of negligence in protecting Jewish students.

Weezha Roz-Washington–Leo Terrell, Senior Advisor at the Department of Justice, stated: “The meetings will be attended by mayors, victims, police, and civil society. We seek transparency and accountability.”
Pamela Bondi, Attorney General, added: “The silence of some officials after Hamas’ October 7, 2023 attack on Israel fueled the flames of anti-Semitism.
This indifference will have serious consequences!”
Some observers have warned that this initiative could become a pretext for suppressing free speech in educational environments.
Critics argue: “The fine line between combating anti-Semitism and restricting civil rights must be preserved.”
These sessions could lead to the creation of stricter federal policies or financial sanctions against educational institutions that oppose the initiatives.
There is also the possibility of increased oversight of curriculum content and student activities.
