According to reports, the smugglers intended to transfer the bird across regional borders to Pakistan to be sold in black markets.
Mohammad Ali, the head of Kunar’s Department of Environment, said, “These birds are among the rare and endangered species, and their protection is one of our top priorities.”
“We will fight vigorously against smuggling and environmental threats.”
Meanwhile, some environmental experts emphasize that this action is an important example of cooperation between government institutions and the public for the preservation of natural resources and endangered species.
They have urged the public to immediately inform authorities if any suspicious activity is observed.
This incident highlights the ongoing and increasing efforts to preserve the environment and combat wildlife trafficking in Afghanistan.
