Deputy Economic Minister of the Prime Minister’s Office Visits Kandahar Shorandam Cement Factory

Weezha Roz-The Deputy Economic Minister of the Prime Minister’s Office, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, visited the working process of the Shorandam Cement Factory in Kandahar on the 9th of the current solar month of Slogha.

The Deputy Economic Minister expressed satisfaction with the progress made by the factory and provided necessary instructions to the relevant officials regarding the quality of work and ensuring timely completion.

The construction of this factory has been entrusted to a private company by the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum, and the work is progressing rapidly with an estimated cost of around 8 billion Afghanis.

In the first phase of the factory, the cement production capacity will be 1,500 tons per day, with future plans to increase the production level to 5,000 tons per day.

The establishment of this factory will significantly reduce cement imports, and it will also create job opportunities for around 5,000 citizens, both directly and indirectly.

It is noteworthy that the Islamic Emirate recently signed contracts with Afghan and foreign companies for the construction of the Yatim Tak and Logar Cement Factories.
