Cooperation Agreement on Pakistani Astronaut’s Spaceflight to Chinese Space Station Signed

According to Xinhua, the China Manned Space Engineering Office (CMSEO) and the Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) signed a cooperation agreement on Friday regarding the spaceflight of a Pakistani astronaut to the Chinese space station in Islamabad, Pakistan's capital.

Weezha Roz-Kabul-Under this agreement, the Chinese government will select and train a group of Pakistani astronauts, and one of them will become the first foreign astronaut to enter the Chinese space station.

The selection process will take approximately one year, and the selected Pakistani astronauts will join a comprehensive and systematic training camp in China.

Afterward, the Pakistani astronauts will carry out short-term flight missions with their Chinese counterparts in the space station in the coming years.

The agreement was signed in the presence of Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif by Lin Xiqiang, Deputy Director of the China Manned Space Engineering Office, and Muhammad Yousuf Khan, Chairman of the Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission, at the Prime Minister’s Office.
