Arrest of a Five-Person Group on Charges of Bribery in Parwan

Weezha Roz-Parwan–Officials from the Criminal Investigation Department of Parwan Police Command have announced the arrest of a five-person group accused of offering a bribe in exchange for the release of a prisoner.
Fazal Rahim Meskinyar, spokesman for Parwan Police, stated that the individuals, from the provinces of Parwan, Kapisa, and Panjshir, had offered 300,000 Afghanis to one of the employees of the Criminal Investigation Department to secure the release of a family member, who had been detained for a moral corruption offense.
According to Mr. Meskinyar, the group was arrested while attempting to hand over 140,000 Afghanis to one of the department’s employees in exchange for the prisoner’s release.
Their charges are being investigated, and their cases will be referred to judicial authorities for legal actions and final verdicts once the investigations are complete.
This action is part of ongoing efforts by security forces to combat corruption and maintain law and order across the country.
