Announcement of Charitable Contributions and Major Investment in the Energy Sector by Mirwais Azizi in Kabul

Weezha Roz-Kabul– Mirwais Azizi, the renowned Afghan businessman, during his one-day visit to Kabul, unveiled the extensive charitable and economic programs of the Azizi Foundation and Azizi Group.

The event was attended by high-ranking officials of the Islamic Emirate, including Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar (Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs), cabinet ministers, industrialists, and several prominent figures of the country.

The Azizi Foundation, with an investment of $500 million, will establish a large medical city in the eighth district of Kabul, covering 350 jeribs of land.

This complex will be named “Frista Azizi” in honor of the late daughter of Mirwais Azizi, and it will include the following sections:
A specialized cancer hospital with a capacity of 400 beds.
A maternity and gynecology hospital with 200 beds.
An orphanage for 10,000 children, including housing, a school, and a health center.
A medical university.
A nursing and midwifery institute.
A student dormitory.
A residential complex for doctors and professors.
Azizi emphasized: “The Frista Azizi Medical City is a non-profit institution that will provide advanced healthcare and educational services free of charge to our underprivileged citizens.”

Azizi Group also announced its five-year investment plan worth10 billion for the energy sector of Afghanistan.

The first project of this plan will involve the construction of a 200-megawatt solar power plant in Kabul, which will begin work tomorrow (Saturday) and will be completed in 8 months.

The ultimate goal of this plan is to create dozens of power plants across the country with a combined capacity of 10,000 megawatts.

In his speech, Azizi said: “I hope these initiatives will provide a glimmer of hope for our people, who have lived in deprivation for many years.”

He also expressed gratitude for the support of the officials of the Islamic Emirate and the warm welcome from the Afghan people, adding: “I pray to God that He grants us the opportunity to serve Afghanistan and its honorable people even more.”

If these two major projects come to fruition, they could bring a significant transformation in Afghanistan’s healthcare, education, and energy sectors.

The Frista Azizi Medical City will become one of the largest healthcare and educational centers in the region, and investment in the energy sector may help alleviate some of the country’s electricity shortages.
