An Eternal Friendship Pact Amid a Global Storm: China and Russia Strengthen Their Strategic Alliance in Moscow
Wang Yi, China’s Foreign Minister, on the first day of his three-day visit to Moscow, emphasized the unbreakable bond between the two nations, stating, “China and Russia are eternal friends and will never become enemies.”

Weezha Roz-Kabul–These remarks come at a time when uncertainties surround the ongoing ceasefire negotiations in Ukraine, and Donald Trump, the President of the United States, has sharply criticized the leaders of Russia and Ukraine, intensifying the diplomatic tensions in the region.
According to the state news agency RIA Novosti, Wang Yi stated in a Monday, March 31 interview that the principle of eternal friendship and non-enmity provides a solid legal foundation to elevate the strategic cooperation between China and Russia to a higher level.
He further added that this cooperation will expand across economic, security, and technological sectors.
Wang’s visit to Moscow is aimed at holding strategic talks, which are likely to outline a joint roadmap for the two countries in addressing the developments in Ukraine and the geopolitical tensions with the West.
Meanwhile, Trump, in controversial statements, accused the leaders of Russia and Ukraine of “incompetence” and has emphasized his criticism of the handling of the Ukraine crisis.
International observers believe that the strengthening of the China-Russia alliance under current conditions not only shifts the balance of power against the Western bloc but may also play a decisive role in the course of the Ukraine negotiations and shaping the future global order.
