Afghanistan’s New Ambassador Officially Begins Duties in Moscow, Marking a Step Toward Strengthened Kabul-Russia Ties

Moscow – Mawlawi Gul Hassan "Hassan", the newly appointed Ambassador and Special Representative of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan to the Russian Federation, officially began his duties with an introductory meeting held with diplomats and staff at the Afghan Embassy in Moscow.

Weezharoz – During the meeting, Ambassador Hassan emphasized that embassy affairs would be conducted with full commitment and close cooperation among staff.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate welcomed Russia’s formal acceptance of the ambassador, calling it a significant and positive step, and expressed hope that this move would further expand political, economic, and multilateral cooperation between the two countries.

This development comes as ties between Afghanistan and Russia have seen notable growth in recent months, with Moscow being one of the few capitals to maintain official diplomatic engagement with the Taliban-led government.
