Afghan Hajj Minister Travels to Saudi Arabia for On-Site Supervision and Participation in Global Jeddah Conference

Kabul-Dr. Noor Mohammad Thaqib, Minister of Guidance, Hajj and Religious Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, departed for Saudi Arabia on Saturday, 3rd Dhul-Hijjah 1446 AH (corresponding to June 10, 2025), to assess the operational process of Hajj and participate in the International Conference of Islamic Hajj Ministers in Jeddah.

Weezharoz-During the visit, Minister Thaqib will inspect the Afghan Hajj mission teams and evaluate the quality of services in accommodation, food, transportation, healthcare, and religious guidance to ensure that over 30,000 Afghan pilgrims in Mecca receive proper, organized, and high-quality services.

His agenda also includes official meetings with Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, Hajj-related companies, and other relevant bodies.

These discussions aim to enhance coordination, streamline service delivery, and establish long-term cooperation for improved Hajj management in future years.

According to a statement from the Ministry, a key component of the visit is Thaqib’s participation in the Jeddah International Hajj Ministers’ Conference.

The event seeks to foster experience sharing, promote coordination among Islamic nations, and improve the overall management of Hajj services.

The Ministry emphasized that this visit reflects the Islamic Emirate’s firm commitment to supporting Afghan pilgrims by ensuring they perform Hajj in a peaceful, secure, and spiritual environment.
