Acting Minister of Refugees and Repatriation Meets OIC Ambassador in Kabul
Kabul- Mawlawi Abdul Kabir, the Acting Minister of Refugees and Repatriation of Afghanistan, met officially with Mr. Mohammad Saeed Al-Ayyash, Ambassador of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Kabul. The two sides discussed expanding cooperation on addressing the situation of Afghan refugees and implementing public welfare projects.

Weezharoz– During the meeting, they exchanged views on the current condition of Afghan refugees in various countries, especially the growing concerns regarding inhumane treatment and forced deportations.
Ambassador Al-Ayyash commended the Islamic Emirate’s effective management of the repatriation process and stated that mistreatment of Afghan refugees has deeply concerned the OIC.
He added that the OIC is actively working to mobilize more support from its member states to assist Afghan refugees and expressed hope that these countries would give special attention to the plight of refugees and play a more active role in providing humanitarian assistance.
Ambassador Al-Ayyash also announced that, in coordination with the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation and local authorities in Salang District of Parwan Province, plans are underway to construct a grand mosque along the northern highway.
The mosque will have the capacity to accommodate 3,500 worshippers, including facilities for women, and will serve as a suitable location for ablution and prayers for travelers on the northern route.
Mawlawi Abdul Kabir sincerely thanked the OIC for its past support across various sectors, especially refugee affairs, and emphasized the importance of continued constructive engagement between the Islamic Emirate and the broader Islamic world.
He described the OIC as a vital institution in strengthening relations among Islamic countries and highlighted the need to establish residential townships as a long-term solution to the refugee crisis.
He called on all international aid organizations, especially the OIC, to cooperate in this endeavor.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Acting Minister reaffirmed the government’s priority in addressing public needs through public welfare initiatives and urged the OIC to sustain and expand its support.
