The United States Implements First Executive Order of Maximum Pressure on Iran

Weezha Roz-The Trump administration has announced the first U.S. sanctions against the Islamic Republic following the issuance of the executive order by the U.S. President to reintroduce maximum pressure.

These sanctions target an “oil network” from which Iran’s military forces have earned hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue.

According to Iran International, citing the U.S. Department of the Treasury, this international oil network facilitates the shipment of millions of barrels of Iranian crude oil worth hundreds of millions of dollars to China.

The U.S. Treasury Department stated that the sanctions target entities and individuals in several countries, including China, India, the United Arab Emirates, as well as several vessels.

The U.S. Treasury Department also announced that the sanctions are aimed at Sepah Energy Company and its affiliated companies, which operate under the supervision of the Iranian military.

They use deceptive methods, such as falsifying maritime documents, to conceal the origin of Iranian oil sold and transported to foreign buyers, including China.
