Investment Call in Afghanistan with Extensive Facilities Held

Weezha Roz –The Ministry of Industry and Commerce of Afghanistan has announced the launch of a major national investment call aimed at boosting industrial, commercial, and transit programs to increase exports, stabilize the Afghan currency, transform Afghanistan into an industrialized and self-sufficient nation, balance trade, and establish the country as a true regional transit hub.

The event was attended by Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Minister Nooruddin Azizi, leadership from the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, other officials of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, foreign diplomats, and prominent figures from the private sector.

At the opening of the event, Mullah Baradar emphasized the importance of increasing domestic production and creating job opportunities for Afghan citizens in both public and private sectors. He assured all investors that the government would offer full support for their initiatives.

Minister Nooruddin Azizi discussed the decree issued by the Amir al-Mu’minin regarding the support and development of the private sector and domestic production.

He emphasized that ministries and government agencies are committed to providing the necessary facilitation for trade in ports, transit points, and highways, as well as ensuring a positive environment for interaction with private sector members and promoting domestic products.

Azizi also elaborated on the facilities provided by the Islamic Emirate to the private sector, the ongoing activities in the industrial sector, and the incentives extended to returning traders and industrialists.

He further stated that in order to support the private sector and attract investment, the government has revised key investment laws, established investment desks in the Economic Affairs Office, and set up an Investment Facilitation Desk within the Ministry of Industry and Commerce. Additionally, an Investment Affairs Department has been created within the ministry’s structure.

Subsequently, Abdul Latif Mansoor, Acting Minister of Energy and Water, Din Mohammad Hanif, Acting Minister of Economy, and Sadruddin Osmani, Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock, provided detailed information about investment opportunities in their respective sectors.

Additionally, Khan Jan Alkozai, a member of the Board of Directors of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment, and Hamidullah Khadim, head of the Herat Chamber of Industries and Mines, spoke on behalf of the private sector.
