Lapid: Netanyahu Has Lost Domestic Trust After “List of 13 Failures”

Fawzea sediqi- Yair Lapid, leader of the Israeli opposition, on Saturday, June 21, 2026, launched sharp criticism against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, unveiling what he called a "list of 13 failures." Lapid pointed to Netanyahu's performance regarding Iran, stating that the prime minister had presented a plan to the United States that promised the overthrow of the Iranian government.

However, according to Lapid, the plan lacked proper expert assessment, and its “risks, regional consequences, and economic impacts” were not adequately explained to the Israeli public.

Lapid added that Netanyahu “did not know how to implement this objective” and, following the failure to achieve the plan, has lost domestic trust amid the ongoing war.

The opposition leader also referenced recent statements by U.S.

President Donald Trump regarding the postponement of strikes against Iran, describing this as evidence of confusion in decision-making and a lack of a clear strategy toward Iran and the region.

Lapid strongly criticized the policies adopted by the current Israeli government.

Lapid’s criticisms come at a time when political divisions within the Israeli regime over how to handle Iran’s nuclear file and regional tensions are becoming increasingly apparent.

Analysts believe that these remarks reflect growing distrust in Netanyahu’s cabinet and may serve as a precursor to broader opposition efforts aimed at shifting Israel’s foreign and security policies toward Tehran and its regional allies.
