Kazakhstan to Open Pharmaceutical Sales Office and Chamber of Commerce in Kabul

Fawzea sediqi- Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, met today (Saturday, June 20, 2026) with Mr. Serik Zhumangarin, Deputy President and Minister of Economy of Kazakhstan, at the Chahar Chenar Palace in the Arg.

The Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs welcomed the Kazakh delegation and described high-level official visits as important for the expansion of economic cooperation between the two countries.

The Deputy President of Kazakhstan expressed satisfaction with the recent increase in bilateral trade and announced that his country is prepared to provide transportation subsidies for Kazakh flour exports to Herat province.

He also stated that Kazakhstan would open a pharmaceutical sales office and a chamber of commerce in Kabul.

Mr. Zhumangarin further added that Kazakhstan is ready for practical cooperation in opening bank accounts at Da Afghanistan Bank and Ghazanfar Bank to facilitate financial transactions, exploring and extracting various mines, particularly chromite and zinc, producing chemical fertilizers, and constructing the Mazar-i-Sharif–Herat–Kandahar–Spin Boldak railway network.

During the meeting, the Kazakh side also expressed interest in increasing exports of Afghan food products and stated that they would reduce tariffs on Afghan goods to boost bilateral trade.

The Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs expressed gratitude to the Kazakh side and assured that relevant Afghan authorities would cooperate and coordinate with them in the aforementioned areas.
